As of 8:00 AM this morning, South Whatcom Fire Authority’s Sudden Valley station is fully operational!📢 🚒 EXCITING NEWS! SUDDEN VALLEY FIRE STATION NOW OPEN

Effective 8:00 AM this morning, we are now fully operational at Station 22 in Sudden Valley.

After over two years of being closed, due to an initial pipe break and significant water damage, and then a planned renovation project, we are happy to report we are back to being staffed 24/7.

We thank the community for their patience and continuous support through this frustratingly long process.

We will be announcing an Open House date very soon once we get situated.

Thank you to the Bir

Thank you to the Birch Bay Chamber of Commerce for standing with North Whatcom Fire & Rescue. 🚒 Our members serve this community every day, and support like yours helps make sure they have the people, equipment, and facilities to keep doing it. Ballots are due August 4th! Please take a moment to learn about Proposition 2026-03. ❤️🚒 The Birch Bay Chamber of Commerce is proud to support Proposition 2026-03 for North Whatcom Fire and Rescue - WCFD 21 that appears on the August 4th Primary Election Ballot.

Our community depends on North Whatcom Fire & North Whatcom Fire and Rescue - WCFD 21 every day, for emergency medical response, fire protection, rescue services, and community safety. Over the past two decades, emergency calls have increased significantly while the district's voter-approved fire levy has declined due to state levy limitations.

According to the district, the levy restoration would help maintain emergency response, hire and retain firefighters, replace aging equipment, and invest in facilities needed to serve our growing community.

There are several resources that we will link in the comments below, and we encourage you to learn more about this important measure. Our firefighters and first responders are there for us every day. We encourage our community to be informed and participate in this important local election. 🚒❤️
